  • The challenge
eLexicons is an online application that provides a reliable and contextualized learning resource for students of the visual arts. It is used by some of the leading centres for art and design education in the world, such as Central Saint Martins and the London College of Communication.

eLexicons founder, Mike Daines, approached us to make proposals about the identity and design of the eLexicons application, to help increase it’s usability and form the basis of a targeted marketing campaign to promote the launch of it’s second iteration.

    The solution
Working closely with Mike we developed an identity that is approachable and trustworthy whilst also reflecting something of the educative nature of the product. The humanistic typeface chosen embodies those qualities whilst also functioning well at small sizes on both screen and print. The layout of the application clearly articulates the component parts of the content, enabling students to intuitively discover the relationships and influences that define the subject. We also designed the accompanying marketing collateral.
